A sure-fire cure for any ailment

Black eyes, grey skin. Below the neck it's holding itself together but otherwise, I'm on a one-way street to Botox. My mother will be delighted when we finally have something in common. I wonder if my father will forgive me for long enough to give me a consultation?

I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror for half an hour this morning. Trying to find myself. Trying to meet my own eyes.

I'm not sure I like what I see.

Text from James this morning: THNKNG OF U. J XOXOXO

You'd think James would have realised I'm a bad investment by now. Remind me not to put any share portfolio I might have in the future in his hands. He's obviously not very good at his job.

Helen is taking me shopping. The purchase of new shoes is the only effective cure for the comedown blues.

The secret is to NOT look at yourself in the bathroom mirror. Then you neither know or care what you look like. I threw all the mirrors out of my house years ago, and just assume all the lingering looks I get in the street are because I'm an interesting individual type of person *grin*

Ahhhh, for James. I like him. Can I have one?

don't sell yourself short--you are a great investment. we all go through lows, and highs, but over time the trend is for overall growth.

(the ones who are a bad investment are the people who are on a continual downward spiral, and who never take the time to care or ever try to change things)

your mood will turn bullish soon--go out with Helen and get some awesome shoes for yourself--something that will go with those sexy legs you put on display in last week's pic. :)

Aren't you underrating yourself a bit? It all has to do with your mood. Get some shoes, and some clothes, then pay somewhere around a fiver for a white-chocolate mocha at a Starfucks and watch the people roll by the window, before you know it you'll be feeling better. Works for me. (except for the contents in the shopping bag)

shoes, make a body well. Maybe James sees what you can't, a work in progress. Give yourself some credit.

Oh bless you all. Your comments have made me feel so much better - as has an afternoon of gratuitous Visa abuse. Don't even think of going to Selfridge's for the next few days - Helen and I bought out most of the stock. :-)
Anyway, I was starting to bore myself with my endless wallowing in the Sara-sized sea of self-pity...

Never trust a man the puts "XOXOXO" at the end of a test. You've been warned.

Oh, and stick some slap on and forget about the weekend... glad you've been forced to re-evaluate though - that's always a good thing to do.

I agree - don't sell yourself short. I always say that we can only truly be loved if we know how to love ourselves, so just embrace it. You're probably feeling low after your heavy weekend. It's like when you're about to have your time of the month and you just don't recognise yourself!

thanks wdky - you're right, the world looks very different when a girl's got her mascara on. And can I ask you something? I've always wondered - how do guys cope without concealer? I mean, life without Touche Eclat? Unthinkable.
And what does putting xoxoxoxo on a text say about a guy? I'm fascinated.
nml - you're right. I'm not usually so miserable. Euw, and PMS... that's a whole other story. Helen and I are synchronised and go mental in tandem. I really feel sorry for our neighbours.

i always feel bad for my poor skin after a recreational fun fest....which is exactly why you should slap on somy hydrotherapy for the face, followed by mascara, followed by a pampering shoe purchase. you do all women proud, showing us how to balance it all! and yes, wdky is right, if you are getting xoxoxo texts, but no phone calls, watch out.
