The Great Withholder - will he submit?

James just called me.

At least this time I wasn't stoned out of my brain so I think that maybe I came across as a reasonably normal person. Hah, sucker.

Anyway, we're going out tomorrow night. Let's hope he gets some sense into his head by then and decides to give it up.

Otherwise, I'm going to have to ask him if he's gay. Do gay men enjoy snogging women? Because he sure wasn't faking it when we last locked lips...

Mind you, he did admire my shoes when we went out last week, so it's a strong possibility...

If he asks to wear your shoes, it's definitely a sign. A bad one.

Damn, wdky took my line first--but he does have a time zone advantage.

I'm new to your blog, but I went back to look at the earlier posts about this guy, and two things came to mind:

1) there might be something to the fact that he's separated--have you found out what happened in his marriage? Maybe the experience was a complete mind f*ck, and he's a little leary about taking that step.

2) So, he's an extremely good looking, financially successful, former model who lives in a swanky neighborhood and enjoys wining and dining women with witty conversation--maybe he thinks that he's the total package and its a power trip thing for him. Like he's such hot sh*t that he could get sex whenever he wants, and he knows it. So maybe he gets off on stringing women along because he's sure that they'll still pursue him and he enjoys the control.

Or, maybe he is gay and is just after your wardrobe...

wdky - euw. The thought of my lovely shoes being violated by a great big male foot makes me feel quite queasy.

TJ - thanks for dropping by. Hope you're enjoying the blog. LOL, you know, when you describe him like that it kinds of puts me off but in person he's not coming across as arrogant at all - which is what worries me more, actually. I can deal with the vultures, it's the nice guys you've got to watch out for and especially the ones who come in deluxe gift-wrap.

I actually have an inkling that he's a secret romantic, and if that's the case then we've got nothing going on. Or maybe it's the ex-wife baggage. And I'm not much for rescuing emotionally wounded males, either. We shall see...

James is a big question mark. Do let us know what happens next...

Yes, I am enjoying your blog, and thanks for taking the time to stop by mine (and for the compliments--you have a very nice pic yourself...)

Well, it sounds like I may have been off with theory #2, so my suggestion would be to dress as sexy as hell and knock those notions of sappy romance right out of his head.

It'll be interesting to read how the next date turns out. In fact, you might be on the date right now as I'm typing this--You guys are either a day ahead or a day behind us on the clock. I never could keep that whole Greenwich Meridian Time thing straight--is it even still October over there in England now...??

I keep meaning to say, how good is Chuck and Buck? I used to be a film reviewer in a past life. it was very instructive sitting in the preview theatre in Soho Square with a group of old boys from the public school system (most of the film reviewers were born with a silver plum in their mouth) and listening to them squirm from one scene to the next. I was the only person in the room laughing - I was roaring with laughter amid a crowd of silent middle-aged men fidgeting with their ties (classic phallic symbols; when a man starts fidgeting with his tie, he's really stroking his metaphoric cock.)

NYPC - tonight is the big night, so check back here tomorrow! Mind you, if he continues with the frigid behaviour then it's game over. I can't be bothered.

TJ - thanks, and yes, the glam is coming out in full force tonight. I'm wearing a face pack as I type this and Helen has promised me a pedicure later. (It's lunchtime Tuesday here at the moment, so preparations are full steam ahead!)

Chuck and Buck is so cool! I went to see it at Brixton (an indie cinema) a few years ago as it wasn't widely released, and loved it. It is so painful to watch. Another movie saw recently that kind of reminded me of it was Sideways. If you haven't seen it you must, again it has the totally cringeworthy lead character and a similar pace. It's great and one of the best movies to come out of the US for a while. That reminds me, I should add it to my profile.

I went and saw the Ice Storm at the Brixton way back in '97.

I used to live with a guy who managed the Dog Star.

Another life-time ao that was.

good luck tonight
